Welcome to Mums Cleaning Services Chicago. By using our services or accessing our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking any cleaning services with us.

1. Accounts & Access

When you create an account with us, you must provide us with information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of these Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our service.

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access our service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree to notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

2. Payment & Billing

All billing is processed through Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. By providing your payment information, you authorize us to charge your card for the services rendered.

  • We place a 24-hour card hold before service to verify payment method validity
  • Your payment method must remain valid for the duration of your service agreement
  • If your payment method is declined or invalid, service may be cancelled
  • Full payment is due upon completion of cleaning services unless otherwise arranged

3. Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. However, our cleaners reserve time specifically for your appointment. The following cancellation fees apply:

  • Less than 48 hours notice:25% cancellation fee
  • Less than 24 hours notice:50% cancellation fee
  • Same day cancellation:100% fee charged to card on file

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will not incur any fees.

4. Service Policies

  • Mum's Cleaning Services Chicago reserves the right to reassign cleaners as needed to ensure quality service delivery
  • Service complaints must be filed within 24 hours of service completion
  • We reserve the right to terminate service at any time with written notice
  • Access to your property must be provided at the scheduled service time
  • Pets should be secured or arrangements made prior to the cleaning team's arrival

5. Cleaning Restrictions

For the safety of our cleaning professionals, we do not provide services for the following:

  • Blinds or fixtures that are prone to breaking
  • Hoarder homes or extremely cluttered spaces
  • Biohazard situations (blood, bodily fluids, etc.)
  • Properties with pest or insect infestations
  • Second-story exterior windows or any work requiring ladder use
  • Any situation deemed unsafe by our cleaning professionals

Our cleaners may refuse service if homes are found to be extremely unsanitary or pose safety risks. In such cases, you may still be charged a trip fee.

6. Client Responsibilities

To ensure the most effective cleaning service, clients are expected to:

  • Tidy and declutter your home before the cleaners arrive (e.g., pick up toys, clothes, dishes)
  • Move heavy furniture and items that may block access to areas to be cleaned
  • Secure valuable items, jewelry, cash, and important documents
  • Provide working utilities (water, electricity) on the day of service
  • Inform us of any special instructions, areas of concern, or access codes in advance

Note: Mum's Cleaning Services Chicago assumes no liability for damage to client-owned vacuums or cleaning equipment if used during service.

7. Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with any aspect of our cleaning:

  • Contact us within 24 hours of service completion
  • We will send a team to re-clean the area(s) of concern at no additional charge
  • Re-cleaning will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time

Please note: Hourly-based cleaning services are excluded from our satisfaction guarantee coverage, as these services are time-limited by nature.

8. Non-Solicitation Agreement

By using our services, you agree not to directly or indirectly solicit, recruit, hire, or engage any employee, contractor, or cleaner of Mum's Cleaning Services Chicago for private cleaning work or any other services.

Important: This non-solicitation clause remains in effect for 5 years following the termination of services. Breach of this agreement will result in a penalty of $5,000 USD, payable immediately upon violation.

9. Liability & Insurance

Mum's Cleaning Services Chicago is fully insured and bonded. However, our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for damage to items that are inherently fragile, worn, or improperly installed
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or normal wear and tear
  • Claims for damaged or broken items must be reported within 24 hours of service
  • Maximum liability for any single incident is limited to $500 unless otherwise specified

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms and Conditions. Upon termination, your right to use our services will immediately cease.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
